A North Texas state representative was served with a lawsuit as he presided over a committee meeting in Austin.

According to reports, Morgan McComb of Parker County is suing State Representative Jeff Leach for defamation.

Leach had reportedly tweeted fellow Republican Bryan Slaton's bill that would allow voters to decide whether Texas should secede from the U.S., saying it's ridiculous and is the very definition of hypocritical and seditious treason.

McComb, who supports the bill, asked Leach if he's accusing her of treasonous sedition, to which he replied if she believes that Texas should secede, unequivocally yes.

Apparently, McComb didn't like that response and is asking for $250,000 in damages.

Leach was served during this morning's meeting of the Texas House Judiciary and Civil Jurisprudence Committee, which he chairs, by Casey Littlejohn, who had signed up to speak on a bill the committee was taking up.
