Three major wildfires are still burning in Texas this morning including in Hidalgo, Bastrop and Coryell counties.
Just east of Austin, the Bastrop County Powder Keg Pine fire is only 50 percent contained. There were evacuations on the south side of Bastrop State Park Tuesday but residents received the all-clear to return home about 9 p.m.
Officials say the fire came as close as just four miles from downtown Bastrop.
Memories are still fresh from the 2011 Bastrop County Complex Fire in the same area which became the most destructive and the costliest fire in Texas history, causing an estimated $350 million in damage and destroying nearly 1,700 structures.
In that fire two people died and more than a dozen more were hurt. At least 32,000 acres were burned.
