During the second quarter of Tuesday night's basketball game against Mount Enterprise, Alto High's Devonte Mumphrey collapsed and died.
As of early Wednesday afternoon, the circumstances surrounding Mumphrey's death remain unclear, and the Alto ISD says privacy issues prevent it from going into detail about the sophomore's death. The school district, located about an hour south of Tyler, is asking everyone to keep the community in their prayers.
