The Governor says the money will go a long way toward helping the supply chain problem. Rod Hurst of the Continental Truck Driver School in southern Dallas says his graduates are finding jobs easily.

"Everywhere, all the private carriers that carry their own goods they need truck drivers, all the trucking companies, everyone's hiring," Hurst said. "Some companies send their own people here for us to train them, and we train them and sent them back."

The classes take around four to six weeks and a driver can expect to earn an average of $43,000 a year. Hurst says the state money will help students who want to drive but cannot afford to pay for school.
