Last Tuesday, just one day after attending a crowded indoor campaign event in Collin County, Governor Greg Abbott tested positive for COVID-19.
On Saturday afternoon, the governor tweeted that while his COVID-19 test was negative, he will follow his doctor's recommendation and continue to quarantine at the Governor's Mansion in Austin.
He also stated that since he is fully vaccinated, his infection was "brief and mild", and is encouraging all Texans to get vaccinated against COVID-19.
Abbott's wife, Cecelia has not tested positive.
