Half a million Texans are set to get a check from Intuit as part of a settlement over an investigation into TurboTax.
According to Attorney General Ken Paxton, Texas will get more than $14 million in restitution as part of a $141 million multi-state settlement over an investigation that started nearly two years ago.
Paxton says Intuit misled people into buying its tax products when they were already eligible to file their taxes for free. Nearly 500,000 people in Texas will be getting restitution payments over the next few months.
