Two people are dead at a Houston motel along with their killer.
Overnight, there was gunfire at a motel called the Palace Inn. Then there was a 911 call from a man who said he was armed and might shoot others.
When officers arrived, a man on a second-floor balcony began shooting down on the police although they were not hit. The officers fired back and in a little while, they found the gunman dead on the balcony. Investigators have not said whether he as shot by police or, perhaps, killed himself.
Police do not believe the killer knew the victims -- a man and a woman -- and right now they cannot say why he did it.
