UPDATE 7/10, 1:45 PM: The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for all of North Texas until 9 p.m. Wednesday.
The Advisory includes the following counties: Montague, Cooke, Wise, Denton, Collin, Hunt, Parker, Tarrant, Dallas, Rockwall and Kaufman.
Monday started with a few showers and thunderstorms, mainly in the northeastern half of North Texas. Showers and isolated storm chances will continue across north Texas through mid-afternoon.
We also have Heat Advisories in effect today for areas south of DFW, where the heat index values will exceed 105 degrees. Afternoon highs will be in the low to mid 90s, DFW -> North, upper 90s south of DFW.

Don't put your umbrellas after today, because more showers and storms will work their way into the area overnight tonight through the first half of tomorrow. A few storms could be strong overnight, with small hail and gusty wind possible. Temperatures will fall into the seventies by daylight.
Again, some leftover showers and storms are possible through the day tomorrow with highs in the mid to upper nineties. After tomorrow's rain chances, we dry out and heat up Wednesday through the weekend. Afternoon highs will range between 100 and 103 degrees, with heat index values above 105 degrees. Widespread Heat Advisories will be in place.

Our next possible rain chance will be late Sunday, as a weak cold front drifts south out of Oklahoma.
