A few more very hot days ahead before some weather changes arrive this weekend and into early next week!

High pressure in the upper levels of the atmosphere will continue to control our weather through Friday. Afternoon highs will reach the upper nineties with heat index values approaching 103゚ during the mid afternoon hours. No rain is in the forecast through the period.

By late Friday, you'll notice high clouds increasing from the southeast. This is because we may have Tropical Storm heading towards the mid or upper Texas coast.

Latest data continues to push the track of this possible tropical storm a little bit farther west than previously indicated by weather data. This being said, we may see a few showers working the way into the area from the south by Saturday afternoon into the early evening hours. This should hold temperatures down into the low in mid nineties during the afternoon.

Now, depending on the track of this tropical system, we may stay cloudy with more rain into the Sunday as well. It all depends on the track of this possible tropical storm.

After this weekend, all eyes to the northern sky as a cold front settles into the area. This will increase our rain chances and keep our afternoon highs in the eighties for Monday and Tuesday. Things will start to dry out and heat back up by the middle to end of next week.

**Tropical development imminent over the next 48 hours.**

Residents along the Texas coast need to monitor the weather into the weekend. It's still to early to tell if we'll feel any effects from this across north Texas, but chances are not that great right now. Things could change if this takes a more northerly track. Stay tuned!
