The National Weather Service has issued an EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING for North and Central Texas until 8 PM CDT Tuesday.

The NWS says dangerously hot conditions with temperatures up to around 106 in the west and heat indexes as high as 115 in the east should be expected.

Extreme heat and humidity will significantly increase the potential for heat related illnesses, particularly for those working or participating in outdoor activities.

Brace yourselves for an intense heat wave this week!

Yesterday, DFW Airport hit 101゚- this is the first official triple digit temperature of 2023, and unfortunately we have several more to come through Saturday.

Heat Advisories are in effect today and tomorrow and most likely through the rest of the week. Afternoon highs will range between 102 and 104 today and tomorrow. Heat index values will approach 110 degrees.

Wednesday will be the hottest day this week with afternoon highs approaching 106 degrees. Thursday's high near 104, Friday 102, Saturday 100, and a bit cooler Sunday with highs in the mid 90s.

A weak cold front will try to sneak into the area on Sunday, bringing a slight chance of showers and storms with it.

Please take the necessary heat precautions, especially if you're going to be working outdoors - and please make sure your pets are not left outside.
