
Hurricane Nicole made landfall around 2:00 a.m. CST this morning around the Vero Beach area. This is located on the east central coast of Florida.
Wind as of 5:00 a.m. CST is at 65 mph. It's movement is to the northwest and will move between Tampa and Orlando over the next couple of hours.
Widespread power outages have occurred along parts of the Treasure Coast and points inland. There is also been some wind damage along its path through this morning. It will reemerge over the northeast Gulf of Mexico briefly late this afternoon and curve northward and eventually northeast through Georgia and the Appalachian states over the next 48 hours.
It will continue to weaken as it spreads very heavy rain up to east coast of the United States this weekend. Nicole will have no effect on Texas.
