We're waking up to temperatures well above average for this time of the year. We're also dealing with low clouds, a lot of humidity, and a stiff south wind gusting to 25 mph.

This wind will shift to the northwest by mid morning, as a strong cold front comes through the area. There's not a lot of cool air behind the front, but the humidity will drop significantly by this afternoon and last through tomorrow evening. Afternoon highs today will still approach 80゚ but, it'll feel a lot more comfortable.

By tonight, the wind relaxes and temperatures will fall into the mid to upper 40s. A light jacket will be necessary as you head off to work or school.

By late tomorrow, a southerly wind will return. Afternoon highs will reach the low to mid 80s!

And then there's Friday.....The Storm Prediction Center has put all of North Texas in a level 2 out of 5 for all facets of severe weather. The tornado threat looks very low right now, but you never can rule out tornadoes when a severe thunderstorm warning is issued. As of now, hail and wind look like the primary threats. The time to be weather aware will be Friday evening in the early Saturday morning. As you know, I will be monitoring.

By Saturday morning, a cold front will have swept through the area, drying the air out giving way for a beautiful weekend. Highs will be in the upper 70s on Saturday, low 80s on Sunday.

Another cold front will arrive here into Monday. This front will have much cooler air behind it, dropping temperatures to near 70 for both Monday and Tuesday. As of now, there is a slight chance for thunderstorms as the front cones through some time Monday morning.
