2 people shot dead, 1 fatally stabbed in early Saturday violence in Philly

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — As Philadelphia surpassed 300 homicides in less than 200 days this year, the historic violence continued. Police are investigating three more early Saturday homicides.

One man, a 27-year-old, was found dead from multiple gunshots inside the parking garage of the Alden Park apartment complex in East Falls. No arrests have been made and no additional information was available. It's unclear if he lived there or not.

Police said the other incident happened in Queen Village, near Paddy Whacks Irish Pub at 2nd and South streets. An argument between two men led to gunfire. One man was shot dead.

A 41-year-old man was stabbed multiple times, near the intersection of North American and Tioga in the city’s Fairhill section. It happened just before 9 a.m. and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

This follows an extremely violent Friday. Five people, including a 14-year-old girl, were shot in Southwest Philly and one of those victims has died. The girl is expected to physically recover.

Authorities are also investigating a triple shooting in Kensington that left a woman in critical condition.

No arrests have been made in any of the incidents. People with information on these shootings or any others are encouraged to call police.
