It happened around 12:15 a.m. Two tow truck drivers at the Jiffy Lube on Aramingo Avenue apparently got into an argument, which police said became physical.
One of the drivers went back to his truck and pulled out a handgun, firing at the other truck where the 3-year-old was inside.
Authorities said three bullets went through the door and hit the child in the leg. The child is currently hospitalized in stable condition.
Police are looking for a black truck with tinted windows, believed to be driven by the shooter.
