PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Police arrested a man who they say killed his girlfriend’s former boyfriend inside her Pottstown home early Sunday morning.
Avery Nascimento, 21, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of 36-year-old Sean Robbins.

Authorities say Nascimento and his 34-year-old girlfriend got into an argument at her house, during which he hit and choked her, threatened her with a gun, and told her she was “going to die tonight.”
Robbins, the woman’s ex, learned of the assault and went to her house. He and Nascimento tried to “talk it out,” but that’s when officials say Nascimento shot and killed Robbins.
The woman ran from the house as Nascimento fired more shots. Officers arrived at 2:40 a.m. and found the woman outside with multiple gunshot wounds. Police say she “played dead” on a neighbor’s porch during the shooting.
The woman is expected to physically recover.
According to detectives, the woman had a protection from abuse order against Nascimento.
Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele calls this “yet another Montgomery County homicide related to domestic violence or relationship homicide.”
Nascimento is also charged with attempted murder, strangulation and terroristic threats, among other related offenses.
