CAMDEN, N.J. (KYW Newsradio) — Cooper Hospital is hosting a COVID-19 vaccine town hall for Camden residents only Monday, and doses will also be available.

Anyone who is interested in learning more about available vaccines is encouraged to visit the Kroc Center in Cramer Hill. Doors will open at 2 p.m. for vaccinations, with an information session scheduled for 5 p.m. Shots will be available after the town hall.

Louis Bezich, senior vice president of strategic alliances at Cooper, said doctors and nurses will be there to answer questions.

"It's everything from how the vaccines were approved and the approval process itself, the speed of the approval process, to whether or not it's safe for individuals who are pregnant," he explained.

"What's unique about the Kroc Center and this vaccination site is that it's as much of an education center as it is a vaccination center, because we know that's so critical to getting people comfortable getting the vaccine."

Bezich said if people are satisfied with the answers, they can get in line for a shot.

"We always love for them to make an appointment if they want to get vaccinated, but we typically accommodate walk-ins at that site," he said.

The town hall is free, but people are encouraged to pre-register by calling 856-382-6685.
