PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Today is the seventh birthday of a South Jersey girl who vanished about a year and a half ago. Her family is still holding out hope that she will come home safe.

Dulce Alavez disappeared from a playground in Bridgeton on September 16, 2019, and there hasn't been a trace of her since.

On her seventh birthday, former family spokesperson Jackie Rodriguez told NBC 10 she is confident the truth about what happened to Dulce is out there. She hopes somebody has the courage to speak up.

"I know that there's somebody that knows something but is scared to come forward," she said. "That person, I feel like, is scared to come forward and say something. But there's more than one person that knows."

Bridgeton Police Chief Michael Gaimari said they continue to follow leads, but as of now, there is no new information to release.

The reward for info leading to an arrest is $75,000 and the FBI is still looking for clues as well. Anyone with a tip can submit it anonymously at 1-800-Call-FBI.
