PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Gov. Tom Wolf has ordered the Pennsylvania flag to fly at half-staff in Montgomery County after the death of a firefighter in the line of duty early Monday morning.

Wolf ordered the lowering of flags to honor Sean DeMuynck. He attempted to help extinguish a house fire in Wynnewood late Sunday night.

It was scheduled to be his last fire mission with the Penn Wynne-Overbrook Hills Fire Company before departing Monday to rejoin his family in Canada.

A cause of death was not initially released. The cause of the fire was also under investigation.

State flags are asked to remain at half staff in the county until sunset on Saturday.

Wolf invited others who fly the Pennsylvania flag to do the same tribute. He said the U.S. flag should remain at full staff.
