CAMDEN, N.J. (KYW Newsradio) — A free pet care program rolls into the city of Camden this month.

The Camden County Board of Commissioners has teamed up with The Animal Welfare Association and others to bring Vets on Wheels back to Camden city residents.

County Commissioner Jonathan Young said the free mobile clinic is critical because sometimes, Camden pet owners aren't sure where accessible and affordable pet care can be found.

"You'll get everything from veterinary exams, checkups, food distribution for cats, dogs, bordetella vaccines, deworming, flea and tick prevention treatments, microchips installation," Young detailed.

"All you gotta do is you come up and you sign up, you give your information right then and there and then you bring your animal inside the vehicle there and they'll give it whatever it needs."

The first clinic will be held Wednesday, April 20 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. in Von Neida Park. The program will operate through October on select dates.

Services are available for Camden city residents only.
