PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A man was killed and four others were wounded during a shooting at a garage in Kensington Tuesday night.

It happened at around 10:30 p.m. in a facility used for cleaning and detailing cars at Rorer Street, just off Tioga Street. Three masked men fired around 50 shots at five men, between 27 and 39 years old, in the building and out on the sidewalk, police said.

Three of the men were hit multiple times and listed in critical condition. Another was shot in the hand and is in stable condition. Police say Christian Figueroa, 39, of the Holmesburg section of the city, was shot multiple times in the face and died.

“The fact that he’s hit so many times in his face, head and body and the shell casings are so close to his body – just a few inches and a few feet away – it appears that he was an intended target,” said Chief Inspector Scott Small.

Investigators are not sure if any of the other victims were targeted as well.

A motive is not yet clear. Police will be looking at surveillance footage from inside and outside the garage as they try to identify the shooters.
