PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — An 18-year-old has been arrested for allegedly shooting at an off-duty police officer last week in Roxborough.

Philadelphia police said the officer was driving home from work along Ridge Avenue, near Shawmont Avenue, when a man on a scooter”recklessly” drove up next to him.

The off-duty officer, who was in his personal car, rolled down his window to show that he was in police uniform — that’s when Nakeem Wilson allegedly shot at the officer, grazing his side with a bullet.

The officer reportedly pulled out his gun and fired back. Wilson lost control of the scooter, fell off, then fled.

The officer was treated at the hospital.

After a weeklong investigation, Wilson was arrested and now faces aggravated and simple assault charges, as well as gun offenses.
