Overnight in Philadelphia: Twin teens shot; triple shooting leaves one man dead

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Gun violence extended across the city again Monday night.

In North Philadelphia, a pair of 17-year-old twins were shot just after 11 p.m. near 24th and Edgley streets.

One boy was shot in the shoulder and thigh. The other was shot in the thigh and ankle. Both were taken to the hospital and are expected to physically recover.

No one was arrested. Police are continuing to investigate.

About an hour earlier in Southwest Philadelphia, three men were shot outside a beer store, near 57th Street and Elmwood Avenue.

Police say the men — ages 51, 38 and 34 — were standing on the corner when someone came up and began to shoot into the crowd before running south on 57th Street.

The 51-year-old, later identified as Harold Haughton, was shot several times and died at the hospital.

The two other men were shot in the leg and thigh, respectively, and are expected to physically recover.

Homicide detectives are handling the investigation.
