Teen dead, shot at least 10 times; another teen in critical condition

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Philadelphia police said that an 18-year-old man is dead after being shot at least 10 times Monday night, while a 19-year-old woman was placed in critical condition after being shot three times in the same incident.

Three men who were inside another vehicle shot the teenage man and woman, according to authorities.

The double shooting happened just after 7 p.m. on East Olney Avenue by North Front Street, in the Olney neighborhood of North Philadelphia.

Police said the teens were sitting inside a black BMW SUV X1.

Three men were inside a white sedan with black-rimmed tires when they shot the man 10 to 12 times around the body, police said. The men also allegedly shot the woman in the chest, cheek and left arm.

Both victims were taken to Einstein Hospital. The 18-year-old man died there, while the woman was placed in critical condition.

According to police, no one was initially arrested, and no weapons were recovered from the scene.
