PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Philadelphia police are on the hunt for two men they say shot four people Saturday in the Juniata section of the city. It's the city's third quadruple shooting in less than a week.
According to authorities, it was around 4 p.m. on the 1200 block of East Luzerne Street, near L Street, when a black Chevy Tahoe pulled up. Police said two men in the vehicle opened fire on people standing on the street, hitting four men, ages 18, 21, 37 and 39.
Chief Inspector DF Pace said two of those four people were taken to a hospital and placed in critical condition, including the 21-year-old man, who is the son of a Philadelphia Police Department civilian employee. He was shot at least eight times.
"Numerous times in the legs, also the arm, and several times in the chest and back," described Pace, who added at 28 shell casings were found at the scene.
Pace said it's unclear if any of the victims were targeted by the gunmen. Police are currently combing through surveillance video as they try to identify the shooters.
