PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The School District of Philadelphia is delaying the start of classes on Monday to give students and teachers a chance to stay up to watch the Eagles play in the Super Bowl.
In an email sent to staff on Wednesday, the district said schools will open with a two-hour delay Monday morning to ensure the safety of students and staff heading to classes.
There’s no word yet on whether schools would close for a parade, should the Birds win.
The school district canceled classes for the Eagles Super Bowl victory parade five years ago.
