The civil penalties for the ten passengers, combined, totals $225,287.

One American Airlines passenger was fined $23,000 for repeatedly striking a flight attendant because her seat would not recline. Another was fined $24,000 for shoving a flight attendant as the passenger was being removed from the flight for refusing to wear a mask.

However, the most expensive fine was $32,000 for a Horizon Air passenger, who wouldn't fasten her seatbelt. The FAA claimed, "she punched and screamed at her husband and son, repeatedly, diverting flight attendants from their duties. She threw trash at a flight attendant, and snatched cookies from a nearby passenger."

The passengers have 30 days to respond to the FAA regarding the claims and fines.
