PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Family members and supporters are leading a silent walk on the second anniversary of the day Dulce Maria Alavez went missing from a South Jersey park.

Dulce, who was 5 at the time, was last seen playing at the Bridgeton City Park on Sept. 16, 2019. Police had said she was abducted by a man. Her mother was just a short distance away with a relative.

The silent walk will begin at the park at 4 p.m. Thursday, around the same time Dulce was taken. The route passes the Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office and the Bridgeton Police Department, leaving battery-operated candles along the way. The goal is to end up at Dulce’s mother’s house, then head back to the park.

A flier for the walk reads, “celebrating a life that still burns bright.” Attendees are asked to wear yellow, the same color shirt Dulce was last seen wearing.

COVID-19 protocols will be followed.

Dulce, now age 7, is still missing. A reward for her safe return stands at $75,000.

Anyone with information can submit an anonymous tip to the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI, or call the Bridgeton Police Department at 856-451-0033.
