HOUSTON (SportsRadio 610)- The Astros have slowed the rehab of pitcher Lance McCullers Jr after he experienced discomfort in his right forearm area after throwing off the mound.
"That's why we took him off the mound," Astros manager Dusty Baker said Wednesday. "He's been throwing on flat ground, so he's being further evaluated."

McCullers has not pitched this season after experiencing pain in his elbow after a bullpen session right before the start of spring training. He threw a 37 pitch bullpen before the Astros May 16 game against the Cubs and was scheduled to face hitters that weekend, but that live BP never took place and he hasn't thrown off the mound since.
"We had to slow him down and there was a setback because we increased the workload in throwing off the mound," Astros general manager Dana Brown told FOX 26. "He was actually up to 93 MPH, which we were excited about. Coming in the following day there was a little bit of discomfort which caused us to slow him down some."
Brown said he was not concerned by the setback and McCullers will be re-evaluated in the next week to 10 days.
