P&P: Phillies pitching is good, but nowhere close to Astros

(SportsRadio 610) - The Phillies are starting Aaron Nola against the Astros in game one of the World Series on Friday.

The Astros will put Justin Verlander, the presumptive AL Cy Young Award winner for the third time, on the mound.

Nola has a 3.12 ERA and 1.10 WHIP in three postseason starts this year (17.1 innings pitch).

Verlander had a rough outing against the Seattle Mariners in game one of the ALDS, but the Astros won anyway on a Yordan Alvarez two-out, three-run walk-off homer. He pitched six innings of three-hit, one-run ball in a win against the Yankees.

On Payne & Pendergast, Seth and Sean compare the Phillies and Astros pitching; react to the Texans cutting Tyler Johnson and signing Tyron Johnson; and dive into the New York Post advocating the Yankees bring in Justin Verlander next season.
