Since Dwayne Haskins was benched Washington fans haven’t seen last season’s first-round pick on the field or even at the stadium with his teammates.

Haskins missed his first game as Washington Football Team’s No. 3 quarterback after he was leapfrogged on the depth chart by both Kyle Allen and Alex Smith due to illness. The second-year quarterback was sent home from the team hotel before last Sunday’s 30-10 defeat and was not at the team facility in Ashburn for most of this week because of that same illness.

However, he did return to practice on Friday and traveled with the rest of the team to New Jersey on Saturday.

In the early period of warmups during a time inactive players workout on the field, Haskins was seen throwing the ball around MetLife Stadium.

Washington named Haskins inactive for Sunday’s game vs. the New York Giants (the typical move for No. 3 QBs in the NFL). There is chatter Washington could be looking to trade Haskins, but most commentators say dumping the No. 15 pick in the 2019 draft so soon would be a mistake.

Head coach Ron Rivera announced earlier this week Allen will remain the starter and Smith his backup for the time being.
