The Washington Commanders schedule for the 2023 NFL season will be released officially on Thursday night – that date is now locked in stone – but what if there was a way to get a sneak pick?

Well, Kevin Sheehan has his Commanders' mock schedule for the season for you two days early. And this year there are tons of new wrinkles in the schedule as the NFL has introduced a game for the Friday after Thanksgiving, multiple games on select Monday nights, flex scheduling for Monday Night Football at the end of the season, and eliminated the network tie-ins that used to dictate who would broadcast AFC and NFC games.

The big questions for Sheehan: How many primetime games will the Commanders get in their 17-game schedule? And, will the NFL reward Washington fans with an easy game against a team with a fan base that won't travel in the first game without Dan Snyder as the owner?

Home opponents for 2023: Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, Philadelphia Eagles, Arizona Cardinals, San Francisco 49ers, Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, and Chicago Bears.

Away opponents for 2023: Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, Philadelphia Eagles, Los Angeles Rams, Seattle Seahawks, New England Patriots, New York Jets, Atlanta Falcons, and Denver Broncos.

Sheehan's Week 1 projection: Home to the Arizona Cardinals. The full schedule is revealed above. Take a listen!
