DOLTON (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - One person is dead, two others are injured after a shooting in the south suburbs Sunday afternoon.
Dolton Police were called to 147th and Blackstone around 4 p.m. for reports of a shooting.
A crowd of people were gathered at a nearby park when gunshots rang out.
Brandi Watson told CBS-2 one vehicle sped down the street in an attempt to get away but ended up crashing into a tree.
"When I got out (of) the car and looked down the street, I saw individuals trying to pull someone out of the street, to the side of the road," said the witness, Brandi Watson. "At that point, everyone was just trying to get out (of) the way."
Three people were hit by gunfire, one of them was killed, though their identity hasn’t been released.
The two other victims were taken to a nearby hospital.
