CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Two firefighters suffered injuries while battling an overnight fire on the North Side.

The Chicago Fire Department said crews responded to a fire on Wilson near Hamilton, a little after 1 a.m. The two-story building in Ravenswood was under construction, resulting in an open and dangerous fire, the CFD noted.

Firefighters conducted a complete search of the building and found no one inside. They were able to extinguish the flames in about a half hour.

Two firefighters were transported to Illinois Masonic Hospital in good condition, with one suffering a shoulder injury while the other cutting his right hand.

The Chicago Department of Buildings was requested to the scene to investigate.
