2 teens, firefighter burned in Roseland house fire: CFD

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Three people were injured, including a firefighter, in a house fire early Wednesday morning in the Roseland neighborhood.

Firefighters arrived to find heavy fire in the one-and-a-half story wood-frame home near 114th and Edbrooke Avenue, and they were told two teenagers were still inside. Flames were seen shooting out the roof.

The fire department reported a 17-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl were burned, so was a firefighter.

The boy was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

“It was expanding very rapidly, because of the missing person report on the onset of the alarm, they made an aggressive attack, which is very risky, but to save a life. That’s what we do,” Deputy Fire Commissioner Brian Helmold said.

The firefighter’s face was burned.
