2 teens shot on South Side in separate incidents, minutes and blocks apart: CPD

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Police are investigating two separate shooting incidents on the South Side that occurred twenty minutes apart and just two blocks from each other Monday night.

The first incident happened at around 7:10 p.m., at 45th and Ashland when a 16-year-old boy, seated in a car, suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen. He was transported to University of Chicago Hospital in serious condition.

Just 20 minutes later and two blocks south, near 47th and Ashland, a 17-year-old boy, while exiting a car, was shot in his lower body. The teen was also sent to University of Chicago. His condition is not known.

Nobody is in custody in either shooting.
