30-year-old man shot and killed on South Side: CPD

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A man died Monday after suffering gunshot wounds on the South Side.

Police said responding officers, shortly before 10 a.m., found the 30-year-old man unresponsive at 80th and Champlain and with gunshot wounds to his abdomen.

He was transported to University of Chicago Hospital but succumbed to his injuries.

Circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear. Area Two detectives are investigating.
