(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A west suburban business has brought high-tech to miniature golf.

Puttshack in Oak Brook is the first and only miniature golf course that integrates smart technology, CEO Joe Vrankin told the Noon Business Hour on Friday.

“The golf ball has a microprocessor and a battery system in it, so it’s almost like a mini iPad within the golf ball,” he said.

That means players don’t have to keep score themselves.

Puttshack is accessible to families and corporate events during the day, Vrankin said. The venue is adult-oriented in the evenings — 21 and over — with curated music and an extensive food and cocktail selection.
