CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Chicago Police in the 12th District, on the Near West Side, have issued an alert about an armed robbery crew.
The alert said there were ten known street robberies in the district on Thursday and Friday believed to have been committed by the same crew, which includes three men who approach people on the street.
At least one was armed with a handgun. Police said in some of the incidents, the victims were shoveling sidewalks or clearing snow from their cars. They catch people by surprise.
Eight of the robberies occurred between roughly two and three in the morning and the other two at about 5:30 a.m.
