CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A seven-year old boy was among three people shot while traveling in a car on the city’s South Side Monday evening and police are looking for the shooter.
Police said the three were in a car traveling west on 74th Street in Englewood when someone pulled up alongside them at Loomis and began shooting. All three people in the car were hit. They included a 19-year old man, a 23-year old woman and a seven-year old boy, whose family calls Baby Jay.
“We’ve never been involved in nothing like this. We’re all in shock about the whole situation. She told me they were just riding and the car pulled up on the side of them,” his aunt,” Shkunna Stewart, told CBS-2.
Seven-year old Baby Jay was shot in his left arm. He had just started school Monday. The 19-year old man was hit in his left leg, the 23-year old woman in her left hand. All were considered in good condition.
