Chicago cops arrest 2 men after violent traffic stop

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Two Chicago police officers suffered minor injuries following a traffic stop early Tuesday morning on the South Side.

The officers pulled over a car at about 1 a.m. on the 8100 block of South Champlain Avenue. A statement from police said there were two males in the car and one had a gun.

Police said one of the men struggled with the officers as they were arresting him. The second person tried to run.

Both men were arrested, and charges are pending.

Police said they found multiple weapons in the car.

The officers were evaluated at a hospital for minor injuries.
