(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Naperville Police have announced a slew of charges against a Chicago man in connection with a stabbing in a health club locker room last month.
Allen G. White, 65, is charged with attempted murder for allegedly stabbing a man in the chest several times with a screwdriver. The attack happened June 5 at a health club near Route 59 and 95th Street.
The victim had confronted White after finding him going through his locker, police said.
“This was an extremely violent attack, and we’re relieved that the victim was not more seriously injured or killed,” Deputy Chief Bob Lee said in a news release.
White is also charged with armed robbery, aggravated battery, unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon, burglary and possession of burglary tools, police said.
He was arrested on July 16 and remains in custody in Will County, authorities said.
