(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A Chicago rapper faces potentially years in prison after pleading guilty to federal wire fraud charges.

Chicago rapper G Herbo, whose real name is Herbert Wright III, plead guilty Wednesday to using stolen credit cards to pay for private jets, luxury cars and a stay at a Jamaican villa.

Wright signed the agreement in the U.S. District Court in Massachusetts; had been indicted in 2020.

It's not the first time the rapper has ran into legal troubles. Cook County court records show he's been charged in a series of criminal cases since 2014.

A hearing in the federal case is scheduled for later this month.
