CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Today is the latest day the city says it intends to move hundreds of migrants from the North Side to the Southwest Side.

The move was first planned for last week, then for Sunday and now after the city said it needed more time for planning, the move is today.

Migrants who’ve been housed at the High Ridge YMCA at Touhy and Western are to be moved to Daley College at 76th and Pulaski.

The city said the move to Daley College would free up more space to shelter migrants who’ve been forced to cram into police stations on an emergency basis. Since last August, the city said more than 10,000 migrants have been bused to Chicago-most of them from Texas.
