NORTHBROOK, Ill. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Police wrapped up their investigation Saturday outside a Northbrook home where they were looking for a missing woman.
A search underneath a wooden shed yielded no results last week as a forensic team with the North Regional Major Crimes Task Force dug down about nine feet in an effort to find remains of Linda Seymour.
The then-35-year-old woman disappeared four days before Christmas in 1982. She lived in the home with her husband and sons, one of whom still lives in the property on the corner of Orchard Lane and Maple Avenue.
While neighbors have long speculated about what happened to Seymour, Northbrook police only said they were exploring a lead in the cold case.
