NILES, Ill. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A cow that was caught on video running through the streets of Niles last April has a new forever home.
WBBM's Roger Plummer shot video of the cow running through the streets of Niles just after dawn on April 27.
Police said it was a senior prank from students at Northridge Preparatory School.
The cow got a name: Blossom. And she now has a forever home thanks to the Woodstock-based Hooved Animal Humane Society.
Executive Director Cynthia Glensgard said the organization received a number of requests to adopt Blossom including some that didn't have the cow's best interests in mind.
"A lot of people were looking to send her to market and we... of course, that's not what we do, so we worked to find her a home where we could ensure that she's safe."
Glensgard said Blossom is on an acreage in Illinois serving as a companion animal for another cow.
