(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Instead of being angry and lashing out after being caught, an intoxicated driver in Indiana did something quite unusual.
Mitchell Demeter, 38 led Porter County police on a chase topping speeds of 100 miles per hour after threatening to kill a woman.
The Northwest Indiana Times reports when officers finally stopped the inebriated Valparaiso area man, according to the the arrest warrant, one officer said Demeter thanked him several times for getting him off the road and was very apologetic about his actions and said he was sorry numerous times.
Police said Demeter's blood alcohol level far exceeded the legal limit and he faces charges of resisting law enforcement, operating a vehicle while intoxicated, and reckless driving.
