The Lightfoot Administration has released a trove of emails and communications written as CBS 2 was trying to acquire police video of a controversial mistaken raid on the home of a Chicago woman.

Anjanette Young was forced to stand naked and handcuffed in February 2019 as armed officer stormed her residence — thinking it was someone else’s home.

As Young later tried to acquire body cam video and other information about the botched raid she enlisted the help of CBS 2’s investigative unit, which ultimately ran video of the incident earlier this month with the aid of a private attorney.

The botched raid created a major public-relations nightmare for Mayor Lightfoot. Her tenure began months after the wrongful raid, but her administration blocked Young and CBS 2’s efforts to acquire the video. The political fallout includes the resignation of the city's corporation counsel.

Lightfoot has apologized for the pain that Young endured and has promised to reform policies to prevent future mistakes.

Here is a link to the materials released Wednesday, including Freedom of Information request denials from a variety of agencies in 2019.

Also Wednesday, Chicago Police Supt. David Brown released redacted body cam video of the police raid. For that material, click here.
