
CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Firefighters have extinguished a fire at a South Shore high-rise apartment building.
Crews responded in the 9 a.m. hour to the building located at 67th and South Shore Drive and found flames shooting from the 10th floor of an apartment unit. It was categorized as a two-alarm fire. Initially, there was a fear the fire would spread to the 11th floor, but firefighters were able to get it under control and contain it to a single unit.
The CFD tweeted minutes later that the fire had been put out.
Firefighters have already successfully completed their search of the 10th floor and will continue to inspect the rest of the building.
Thus far, no injuries have been reported.
