(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A Geneva man could see up to 14 years in prison after he pleaded guilty on Wednesday to driving under the influence and killing a west suburban man.

The DuPage County State’s Attorney’s Office said 30-year old Nicholas Roepke had a blood alcohol level of nearly three times the legal minimum for being drunk when his vehicle killed 73-year old Willie Mosley of Maywood.

The crash happened just over one year ago on Eola Road in Aurora.

Mosley and two other men were trying to put a refrigerator back onto a pickup truck because it had fallen off when Roepke crashed and pinned Mosley between the two vehicles, authorities said.

Two other people were injured in the crash, and prosecutors said one of them is still rehabilitating from the injuries.

Roepke will be sentenced in May.
