Girl, 15, was fatally shot in head before being found in car: CPD

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Chicago police are looking for the gunman who fatally shot a teenage girl early Sunday morning on the South Side.

Police said the 15-year old girl was found just before 1 a.m. in the Washington Heights neighborhood, near 106th and South Sangamon Streets.

The girl was found in the backseat of a car with a gunshot wound to the back of her head, officers said.

She was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center, where police said she was pronounced dead.

No one is in custody. Area Two detectives are investigating.
